soltao Stake Solana TAO on Bittensor

Stake your Solana TAO on Bittensor

Earn staking rewards on the TAO in your Solana wallet. One signature, one transaction. You keep the keys.

Open source · No custody · One small SOL fee

How it works

Your TAO goes home over the LayerZero bridge it came in on, and this page stakes it to the validator you choose, owned by your own Bittensor wallet. There is no receipt token and no soltao contract: every key along the way comes from your signature, and nobody else holds one.

Who runs this

Run by the maintainer of the Solana TAO Board, who also launched the SOLTAO coin (see the disclosure below). Your keys are made and kept in this browser and never sent to them, and there is no soltao contract holding funds. You do trust this page's code, which is open source. Its only charge is a flat SOL fee, shown in step 4 before you sign.

Direction
  1. 01

    Connect your Solana wallet

Nothing moves until you sign in step 4.

Your Solana wallet is the key to your Bittensor wallet. Lose one, lose both.

    Is connecting safe?

Connecting only shares your public address. The page never sees your Solana private key, and no funds move until the final transaction in step 4.

  2. 02

    Create your Bittensor wallet

Sign one message to create it. Signing moves no funds.

    What does signing do?

The signature creates two keys that only you hold: a Bittensor wallet, and a temporary account on Bittensor EVM (the transit account). The bridge delivers to the transit account, and this page stakes your TAO from there and hands it to your wallet. The same Solana wallet always recreates the same Bittensor wallet.

    Where the TAO should land
    Which should I pick?

Create one from my signature: the same Solana wallet recreates the same Bittensor wallet every time. Its 12-word phrase imports into btcli or any Bittensor wallet.

Use one I already have: best if you already keep TAO in btcli, Talisman or another Bittensor wallet. You still sign once, for the transit account. Bringing TAO back to Solana only works with the wallet your signature creates.

Only sign this on soltao.xyz. This signature is the key to your Bittensor wallet.

    Why only here?

Anyone who gets this exact signature can recreate your Bittensor wallet, so never sign it anywhere else. A hardware wallet, or another wallet app holding the same key, can sign it differently and make different keys, so save the recovery phrase anyway.

How much, and where to stake

    On arrival
    What's the difference?

Stake it: staked on the subnet you choose below, owned by your wallet. Four Bittensor transactions (unwrap, stake, hand over, sweep), paid in TAO.

Just deliver it: lands as free TAO in your Bittensor wallet. Two Bittensor transactions.

    0 is Root, the default.
    What's a subnet?

Bittensor is made of subnets, each doing a different AI job. Root (0) stakes your TAO as TAO. Any other subnet converts your TAO into that subnet's own token (its Alpha) at the current price, so its value moves with that subnet.

Pick one from the list, or paste its address.
    What's a validator?

Validators run Bittensor and share rewards with the people who stake with them, after their fee (their "take"). This page does not choose one for you. The list below comes from the chain; names and more detail are on taostats ↗.

    Why keep some?

This much stays unstaked in your Bittensor wallet so you can pay the small fees to unstake or move your TAO later.

    About these fees

The bridge fee (LayerZero's) includes 0.001 TAO dropped on your transit account to pay for its first Bittensor transaction; what it does not use comes back to you. The Solana network fee is added by your wallet. The transaction is simulated against mainnet before your wallet asks you to sign.

Keep this page open until step 5 finishes.

    What if I close it?

Once the bridge delivers, usually within minutes, the page signs the Bittensor steps itself; your wallet will not ask again. If the page closes, come back, sign the same message in step 2, and it finishes. Nothing is lost.

Canonical Solana TAO

A LayerZero OFT listed by Sunrise. Its Solana program is upgradeable, and the upgrade key and the OFT admin key are the same single key (read on chain, 21 Sep 2026).

wTAO on Bittensor EVM

The OFT's other end, holding the TAO that backs Solana's supply. Not upgradeable; its bridge settings are held by a 3-of-4 Safe.

Your transit account

Not a contract: a Bittensor EVM account whose key comes from your signature, like your wallet does. It only talks to wTAO and Bittensor's own staking and transfer precompiles, and it only ever sends to your wallet. If a step fails, your TAO waits there until you sign again. Source ↗

This page

It builds the transaction, derives your keys and runs the Bittensor steps in your browser. One self-hosted script, no third-party code loaded at runtime. It stores no keys; an unfinished transfer's settings stay in this browser until it finishes.
